Great weather greeted the streetrodders to the 2011 Early Tin Dusters Fall Color Run. There were 904 registered streetrodders this year. The vehicles were again welcomed by downtown Quincy merchants on Friday and Saturday. The ladies had their "Go for the Gold" event going on. The men enjoyed the vehicles and trading ideas for future builds. Friday afternoon was the time to head out to Powder Coat Plus. They showed off their powdercoating operation. They were super host, offering wine, beer, and snacks to the streetrodders. Saturday the rodders were again able to show off their vehicles uptown. The public came out to see some beautiful vehicles. The city of Quincy, Illinois was again a super host. Several streets were blocked off, and only streetrods and vendors were allowed. Saturday night was the time to dance. A full house made for a great time. Sunday found everyone out at Moorman Park. The weather cooperated all weekend long. The awards ceremony took place at 2:30. Some very deserving rodders received recognition. Just as important as the awards was the fact that the streetrodders helped raise over $10,000 for Camp Callahan. In addition, HyVee on Harrison Street added an additional $3,000. The Early Tin Dusters again offered our thanks to the rodders by waving good-bye on the bridge as they headed home. We hope to see all again next year, plus a few more. Check back here, as pictures will be added over the next few days.
